Lord, Have Your Way – A Song of Surrender and Trust

Image
Lord, Have Your Way – A Song of Surrender and Trust (Inspired by Katy Nichole’s “Lord Have Your Way”) Have you ever woken up to a song playing in your spirit? I have on several occasions, and the Lord woke me up with this particular song, and it has been on repeat in my mind throughout my chores this morning.  I recently had some stressful things go on in my life, and it bothered me because it was things that I could not control. I had to talk with a few people to talk through the process, as well as surrender the situations to God.  I have always found my worth in serving others, but that tends to get out of hand. I have had to surrender my time and continue to surrender my control on my life to God. It is not an easy path, and I have lots of moments of not understanding why people say and do the things they do to me and the people I love. I have had to put in boundaries for things that try and steal my time with God, and I am learning to not feel responsible for how ...

Always Learning but Never Knowing the Truth

Image
Always Learning but Never Knowing the Truth In an age overflowing with information, it’s easier than ever to be “always learning.” We can watch sermons, listen to podcasts, read devotionals, and scroll through endless Bible quotes on social media. Yet, the Apostle Paul’s warning in 2 Timothy 3:7 feels more relevant today than ever: > “Always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.” Paul was writing to Timothy about people in the last days who would appear spiritual, but whose hearts would be far from God. They would crave new teachings, chase after clever ideas, and pursue the appearance of godliness — but without true transformation. This verse exposes a subtle but dangerous trap: the difference between information and revelation. --- Information vs. Revelation Knowledge alone doesn’t change us. You can memorize verses, study theology, and even teach others — yet still miss the truth of Jesus Christ if it never penetrates your heart. Revelation ha...

Quiet Reflections by the Water: Finding God in Stillness

Image
As I sit here at the barn in the middle of my work, I like to take moments of rest and reflection. It is here that I am reminded of the beauty of God's nature and the stillness of it all. The birds and the flowers do not worry about the things we do, they know they are well taken care of. Nature has always been a link for me, as there is so much to see and hear when we are quiet and still. What do you miss out on when you are loud and in a hurry.  I remember teaching my nieces and nephews about the importance of being quiet while out in nature, not just for safety but also so their eyes could be opened to the beauty of things around them that only reveals itself in the stillness and quiet. Some of my favorite times are first thing in the coolness of morning, when the dew is still present and a fog has settled in. I love walking through nature in those moments, as I feel his presence as I walk slowly and take it all in. Quiet Reflections by the Water: Finding God in Stil...

Yahweh Will Manifest Himself

Image
This has to be one of my most played songs lately, as there is just something about singing the names of God. Each name meaning something different and speaking in and through me as I sing them. God knows what I need in that moment of singing, when I call upon him. Whatever I am needing, he his Abba who never leaves and lives me no matter what.  My hope is that you listen to this song and read this blog and let Abba minister to you and Manifest himself in your life.  Yahweh Will Manifest Himself – A Song of Expectancy and Faith From the very first lyric — > “Your glory is tangible in this place; Lord, You’re doing something great; awaken supernatural faith” — NBCFC Worship invites us into a moment of holy anticipation. This song is not simply about singing to God; it’s about expecting Him to show up — to move, to heal, to reveal His glory in our midst. The Power of His Names In the chorus, the song proclaims: > “Yahweh, Rapha, Elohim, Shaddai, Jireh, Adonai, ...

The Dangers of Pride in a Christian’s Life

Image
The Dangers of Pride in a Christian’s Life Pride is one of the most deceptive and destructive sins a believer can face. It rarely storms in boldly; instead, it creeps quietly into our hearts, disguising itself as confidence, wisdom, or self-sufficiency. Yet the Bible makes it clear that pride is no small issue — it’s the very sin that led to Satan’s fall and continues to pull hearts away from God. > “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” — James 4:6 (ESV) 1. How Pride Shows Up in Our Lives Pride isn’t always loud or obvious. Sometimes, it looks respectable — even spiritual. It can show up in many subtle ways: Self-reliance: When we believe we can handle life on our own and stop depending on God for direction or strength. Defensiveness: When we refuse correction or become easily offended by feedback, thinking we’re always right. Comparison: When we measure our worth or spiritual maturity against others instead of Christ. Judgment: When we look down on othe...

Standing at the Edge of Eternity: A Journey Beyond the Seen

Image
Standing at the Edge of Eternity: A Journey Beyond the Seen In Edge of Eternity, Randy Alcorn paints a vivid picture of life as a spiritual battleground — a journey between two worlds: the temporary and the eternal. Through his allegorical storytelling, Alcorn invites us to see life not merely as a series of random events, but as a pathway leading to one of two ultimate destinations. The novel follows Nick Seagrave, a man disillusioned with the emptiness of worldly success, who suddenly finds himself in a strange land — one that mirrors the unseen spiritual realities of life. Every step he takes along the Red Road becomes a test of faith, revealing the choices that shape eternal destiny. The Red Road: A Symbol of Faith The “Red Road” in Alcorn’s story is a metaphor for the path of salvation — the way paved by Christ’s blood. It’s not an easy road; it’s narrow, winding, and filled with obstacles. Yet it’s the only way that leads to life. This mirrors Jesus’ words in Matthew ...

Exodus 14:14: Learning to be still

Image
“The Lord Will Fight for You — Exodus 14:14” Scripture: “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” — Exodus 14:14 (ESV) --- When the Sea Is in Front and the Enemy Is Behind Have you ever felt trapped — like every option you had was blocked? The Israelites knew that feeling well. In Exodus 14, they had just escaped slavery in Egypt and were on their way to freedom when Pharaoh changed his mind and sent his army to chase them. Ahead of them was the Red Sea; behind them, a wall of soldiers and chariots. They were terrified, and understandably so. It looked hopeless. But in that moment, Moses gave them a message straight from the heart of God: > “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” --- 1. When You Can’t Do Anything — God Still Can God didn’t ask the Israelites to form a battle plan or build a bridge. He asked them to trust Him. Sometimes we’re so used to doing that we forget the power of being still. When you’ve done all you can ...

Anchored in Hope

Image
Anchored in Hope — Living Out Romans 12:12 Scripture: > “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” — Romans 12:12 (ESV) Life is full of seasons — some radiant with joy and others shadowed by trial. In just one short verse, Paul gives us a powerful blueprint for how to live faithfully through all of them. Romans 12:12 is a simple yet profound reminder that our attitude, endurance, and spiritual connection matter deeply as we walk with God. --- 1. Rejoice in Hope Hope is not wishful thinking — it’s a confident expectation rooted in God’s promises. When Paul says “rejoice in hope,” he’s reminding us that joy doesn’t depend on our circumstances, but on the unchanging nature of God. Even when the road ahead seems uncertain, we can still find joy because our hope is anchored in Christ. The world may shake, but our Savior stands firm. Our hope is not in what we see, but in who we trust. --- 2. Be Patient in Tribulation Patience in hardship is never eas...

Power of God's Words

Image
🔥 “Like Fire and a Hammer” — The Power of God’s Word Scripture: “Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?” — Jeremiah 23:29 (ESV) God’s Word is not soft or passive—it is alive, active, and powerful. In Jeremiah 23, the Lord is speaking through the prophet to rebuke false prophets who claimed to speak in His name, yet filled people’s ears with comforting lies. In contrast, God declares that His true Word carries weight, force, and life-changing power. When God says His Word is “like fire”, He reminds us that it purifies, consumes, and refines. Fire burns away impurity—it brings light into darkness and warmth into cold hearts. God’s Word does the same within us. When we read Scripture with an open heart, it exposes what needs to change, burns away sin, and ignites a deeper passion for truth and righteousness. Then God says His Word is “like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces.” Think about that image for a moment. A ham...

God's Promises

Image
As I was driving back from an appointment last week, there was a beautiful rainbow just barely visible, but as I was driving further south, the brighter it became. As I got closer to home, the once barely visible rainbow was so vibrant and bright and had another emerging above it.  It reminded me of God's Promises and the hope of a new day. I marvel at God's continual creations and designs, as each day is a marvelous display of lights, and colors.  🌈 God’s Promise Through the Rainbow After every storm, when the clouds finally begin to part, and the light of the sun pierces through, we often see one of the most beautiful symbols in all of creation — a rainbow. It’s not just a marvel of nature; it’s a divine reminder. The rainbow is God’s promise painted across the sky — a covenant of faithfulness, hope, and mercy. 🌦 The First Rainbow: A Covenant of Grace In Genesis 9:12–17 (ESV), God says to Noah: > “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and y...

In a Pit on a Snowy Day

Image
When I was attending Grace College of Divinity (now Manna University), one of classes I took before graduating had me read a book called  "In a Pit With a Lion On a Snowy Day , and as I read it I was thinking how did I not remember this story. So, I looked it up and sure enough, there he was.  This was not the only time Benaiah was mentioned, but it was a pivitol moment in this man's life, when all others turned and ran; Benaiah ran after it and jumped into the pit with it. He faced his fears and became a warrior in David's army.  I am not sure I would have been able to do what he did on that day, but I know that I have great challenges today. For me those moments of fear was moving to North Carolina, towing a trailer of my belongings behind (which is never done before), to live in a place I'd never visited (outside of a 3 day conference at the church there) and only knew a few people. Seven years later, I had to do it again, but moved back to SWFL, but thi...

Lion of Judah

Image
Have you ever had a song that just resonated in your Spirit and stayed with you. I had the opportunity this past weekend to sing this powerful song with the worship team. We sang it with the video and let me tell you, as I was roaring it felt like God was behind that roar. We roar like little cubs compared to his roar. Piggy backing off of yesterday's post, he is always near and watching over us. He will never leave us, and always present. 🦁 The Lion of Judah: Power, Promise, and Presence Throughout Scripture, Jesus is called many names — Savior, Redeemer, Good Shepherd, Prince of Peace. But one of the most awe-inspiring titles He carries is “The Lion of Judah.” This name first appears in Genesis 49:9–10, when Jacob blesses his son Judah, declaring: > “Judah is a lion’s cub; from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down; he crouched as a lion and as a lioness; who dares rouse him?” — Genesis 49:9 (ESV) Jacob was prophesying that kings — and ultimately, th...

A Journey through Psalm 13

Image
I have struggled with my emotions for most of my life, not sure how to handle them at times. At times I have struggled with deep despair and suicidal thoughts, thinking it would be better if I was no.longer here. I am not gonna lie here, but to be honest I still struggle with that today. I made the realization that when I get to those places and feel like a burden to others, is because I have not been able to handle the pressure of things and the BIG emotions that come along side it. I feel guilty for those emotions, like something is seriously wrong with me, and that was what I was taught. Emotions are part of God's design and to here otherwise is because others do not know what to say or how to handle them. Sometimes I just need a hug, a cup of coffee, or just someone to sit with me for a while. In those moments it allows me to heal some part of me that just needs to breath . I realized that through all of this and when I struggle the most is when I don't feel him...

Dangers of Self Reliance

Image
If you are like me and many others where being self-reliant has been ingrained into your very identity, then you are not alone. Like many, I have faced many things, and learned early on that I could not rely on those around me for one reason or another. I was meant to be strong in all areas of my life and reminded when I was not. I learned to "just figure it out." It works for some things,  it a total dependable on one's self does not get you far. It leaves us weak. God sees and knows all that we go through and face. We MUST rely on him no matter what. I know it is not easy, and you may think, "no one knows what I have faced or going through," but I assure you God does.In him we are strong! Self-Reliance vs. Reliance on God In our culture, self-reliance is often praised as a virtue. From a young age, we’re told to be strong, independent, and to figure things out on our own. And while responsibility and discipline are important, there’s a fine line be...

The Right People

Image
God Sends the Right People “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1 (ESV) Have you ever wondered why certain people come into your life at just the right time—or why some relationships seem to fade away when you least expect it? The truth is, God doesn’t place people in our lives by chance. He is intentional, handpicking those who will sharpen our faith, remind us of our purpose, and walk with us through each season. Some people are brought into our lives to push us closer to God. They may challenge us, stretch us, or even cause us to wrestle with difficult truths. Others are sent to teach us lessons—lessons we may not want to learn, but ones that shape us for the future God has prepared. There are those who walk with us for only a short chapter. Their presence is brief, but the impact they leave can last a lifetime. And then there are the rare few God appoints to stay for the whole story—lifelong companions, encourage...
